A Nation of Neighbors challenge starts on Independence Day, July 19th, and ends on National Good Neighbor Day, September 28th. Any group can form a team and register to participate — a church congregation, a neighborhood association, a school, a company, a nonprofit organization, a family, or even just a group of friends. What is an act of Neighborliness?
Any act of love, kindness, service, mercy, or peacemaking — no matter how small — that sparks, strengthens, or builds a relationship with a neighbor.
Who is my neighbor?
As Jesus taught through the parable of the Good Samaritan, all are our neighbors, but especially those who are different from us. We encourage you to reach across differences (age, race, religion, political affiliation, or anything else) in completing your acts of neighborliness.
What is a Nation of Neighbors?
Our nation is only as strong as the bonds of affection that hold us together. Serving our neighbors in small ways can have a big impact on how our community looks and feels, as well as the peace, prosperity, and freedom we experience as Americans.
